Suction Dryer

Description
The suction dryer has been developed for the potato chips industry to ensure that the product meets defined quality criteria before entering the actual deep frying process. It consists of a number of drying modules arranged to form a drying tunnel. The modular design of the dryer means that the system is subdivided into separate drying sections, each of which is provided with its own heat exchanger and circulation fan sucking the drying air through the product bed. A central drive unit conveys the product on a perforated stainless-steel slat conveyor through the different dryer sections. The product is dried by countercurrent contact with the drying air, which is made to pass the product bed several times in each section.
Applications
Used as a pre-dryer for the production of potato chips.
Modified versions may also be used for other products.
